how much is the average cancellation fee for hotel bookings?

1. I used to work at a hotel and if you didn't cancel within policy limits- usually 24-48 hours it was a charge of 1 night room and tax. If you have a special circumstance as to why you need to cancel you may be able to talk a manager into waiving the fee.
